UNKLE is leaded by James Lavelle (UK), since its beginning in 1994 the musical outfit has been joined by several artists of heavy weight. For each of the albums released by UNKLE the list of collaborators has been vast and impressive, it has become part of UNKLE's signature the synergy of different musical forces.  These are just some of them, Richard Ashcroft, Mike D (Beastie Boys), Jason Newsted (Metallica), Ian Brown (Stone Roses), Brian Eno, Jarvis Cocker (Pulp), Mani (The Stone Roses, Primal Scream), Robert Del Naja (Massive Attack), Nick Cave, DJ Shadow, Thom Yorke,  Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age).

Here we chose three to give you an idea of the stories that make of UNKLE a constellation of art.

UNKLE and DJ Shadow

It was 1993 when DJ Shadow and Lavelle had their first collaboration. DJ Shadow released his first singles on Lavelle's label Mo'Wax. Later on 1997, right after DJ Shadow released his first album Endtroducing... he joined UNKLE to produceand co-write what would be the first album of UNKLE Psyence Fiction. DJ Shadow is also featured as the producer of the album.

UNKLE and Thom Yorke

In 1997 Radiohead was in their OK Computer tour when Yorke and DJ Shadow wrote and recorded “Rabbit In Your Headlights.” The song was the lead single of Psyence Fiction, it got a single released with eight different edits of it, its MV was widely acclaimed. On Radiohead's web it's mentioned that Thom Yorke recorded this before the success of OK Computer, and that about this Lavelle said,”I've always wanted to bring together the different types of music that I've grown up on, to intertwine them to create something that people my age can get into."

NKLE and Josh Homme

Never, Never, Land was UNKLE's second album, released in 2003 it was also produced with the collaboration of many amazing artists, among them was Josh Homme lead singer of Queens Of The Stone Age. Since then they established a solid synergetic relationship that has resulted in some great songs, more collaborations with other members of Homme's band, and since 2014 with Homme's appearing in some of UNKLE's shows. About Homme's experience with UNKLE he saidto UNKLE.com “James Lavelle is an art general. He gathers troops from different backgrounds and areas of expertise and finds a way to bring them into harmony. He helms their differences into a unique amalgam that could not have existed without him. He somehow conducts this strange orchestra into a delicate and bizarre beauty.”
