The Airplane Boys - Arkham, Shanghai

We brought The Airplane Boys to Shanghai last November, but their afterbuzz never faded in the city. This month, we’re bringing them back for another round.

The Toronto scene has been banging out lots of hiphop-electro with mixed in pop sounds these days (i.e. The Weeknd, Drake…) and The Airplane Boys is definitely a good one that hasn’t caught national fire just yet. Their performance at Lune last November brought a new style of rhythm and flow to the stage: a dark undertone masked by synthy hip-hop, their stage presence can only be captured as “ArtHaus Rap."

From a selling point, they’re playing with the big dogs. They’ve shared the stage with artists such as Snoop Dogg and J.Cole, and they’ve been wearing leather pants way before All Star Weekend. They’re even receiving letter inquiries from Kanye West himself.

So come dressed in your best attire to indulge with this group. Having been featured on sites such as the RollingStone, Hypebeast, HighSnobiety, and Complex, The Airplane Boys represent Toronto’s new generation of creativity and individuality. Get familiar before the hottest export out of Toronto is too much in demand.
